The BW Clip is a disposable single gas detector with a 2-year or 3-year lifetime for personal protection. It is virtually maintenance-free and does not require to be calibrated.
It is available for detecting Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Oxygen (O2) and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2). Once activated the BW Clip will show the operating life countdown on screen as standard. It will be permanently switched on until its lifetime ends. This will show either 24 months or 36 months depending on the model and will show until it is disrupted by a pushbutton action, gas alarm or an error event.
The only way of extending the life of the unit is using a hibernation case and it will do so for up to a year. This is only suitable for the Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) 2-year Clips, it is not suitable for 3-year models or any of the Oxygen (O2) clips
The BW Clip performs an internal diagnostic test every 24 hours where it will check detector battery, sensor, and electronics. When the gas detector is exposed to a gas concentration that exceeds alarm setpoints then the alarm will persist until the concentration returns to an acceptable range
There will be a triple alarm system when the unit detects gas:
Low Alarm
High Alarm
The unit will also show OL and -OL for gas concentrations over or under the limits. The O2 model of the BW Clip has the option to zero, see our YouTube guide on how to carry this function out.
There are several additional settings that can activated through the use of Fleet Manager II software, via the IntelliDox station with a BW Clip Nest. BW recommend that the IntellidoX or MicroDock II is used to bump test your BW Clip.
There is also a BW Clip Real-Time monitor available, which will show a real-time display of gas level concentrations and can be calibrated. This is also available on the Frontline Safety website.
