How To Use The Drager Air-Flow Tester Kit
The Drager Air-Flow Tester Kit is an easy way to indicate airflow movement. It’s simple to use, cost-effective and can be operated using just one hand.
THIS FRONTLINE SAFETY GUIDE WILL HELP EXPLAIN HOW TO USE THE DRAGER AIRFLOW TESTER KIT.
WHAT DOES THE KIT INCLUDE?
The Drager Tester Kit is made up of one pack of airflow tester tubes (p/n CH25301), four sealing caps and an aspirator bulb. These are all housed in a compact case which doubles up as a tube-opener. Drager’s airflow tubes can be used in many different industrial applications including mining.
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HAZARD AND SAFETY INFORMATION BEFORE USE.
STEP 1: OPEN THE TUBE
The kit is used by carrying out a few easy steps. The first is to open up the tube. This must be done by breaking off the tips at either end and the casing can help with this. Insert the tube into the slit with the jagged edge. Running the tube up and down the jagged edge will help to weaken the glass and then it should simple enough for the tip to snap off. Repeat this step with the other end of the tube and be careful to properly discard any debris.
STEP 2: INSERT THE TUBE
Once both ends of the Air Flow tube have been opened it can be inserted into the red aspirator bulb. Drager’s detection tubes normally indicate the direction the tubes are inserted into the pump, however, in this case, either end can be inserted.
READY TO USE
The kit is almost ready to use now. The last step is to make sure you’re covering the small hole on the side of the aspirator bulb with your thumb. Once you’ve done this you’re ready to squeeze the air from the bulb through the tube. Doing this will create a stream of smoke. This can be repeated for as long as necessary until the tube no longer emits smoke.
AFTERCARE
The sealing caps provided can be used to cover the airflow tubes when they’re no longer in use. Make sure they’re not stored for more than 3 days. It’s important to know how to dispose of any used or out of date tubes. Contact our Sales Team on 0141 771 7749 or [email protected] for more information on disposal.
REMEMBER: ALWAYS READ THE HAZARD AND SAFETY INFORMATION THAT COMES WITH THE KIT BEFORE USE.
