How to Use the ETI Therma Differential Thermometer

How to Use the ETI Therma Differential Thermometer

In this short walkthrough guide, we will show you how to use the Therma Differential Thermometer from ETI. The Therma Differential digital thermometer from ETI is a thermocouple thermometer, that allows the user to use two type K thermocouple probes, at the same time

Step 1

For the first step, you should connect an appropriate type K thermocouple probe via the socket located at the top of the instrument, and switch your instrument on. You must have the probes connected before you switch the thermometer on.

Step 2

Secondly, apply the tip of the probe to the substance or medium to be measured. It may take a few seconds to stabilise depending on the nature of the measurement or the sensitivity of the probe.

Step 3

Once the readings have stabilised, you can press the HOLD button to freeze the results and stop measurements. This allows you to take note of the measurements if required. Simply press the HOLD button to begin measuring again.

Step 4

This multi thermometer has the advantage of being able to display probe T1 or T2 temperature or the difference between probes T1 and T2. Press the MODE button to scroll through T1, T2 or T1-T2.

To null the differential reading to 0.0 °C/°F, press and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds. Doing this will set the differential reading back to 0 and display a 'null' message, as seen below.
