Introducing the GasAlert Family of Gas Detectors from BW Technologies

GasAlert-family-header

We have introduced a selection of single and multi gas detectors from BW Technologies into our gas detection product range.  These bright yellow portable gas detectors are ideal for many different applications including confined space entry and spot leak testing.

In this short guide we'll walk you through the various BW monitors now available on the Frontline Safety website and also explain some of the main features, consistent across the full range.

WHAT BW MONITORS ARE AVAILABLE?

The single gas detectors in the range are the BW Clip, the GasAlert Extreme and the GasAlertClip Extreme.  All of these are able to detect oxygen (O2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and sulphur dioxide (SO2).  The GasAlert Extreme is also able to detect ammonia, phosphine, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, nitrogen, nitrogen dioxide, and hydrogen sulphide and ozone gas.

Multi gas detectors include the GasAlert Quattro, GasAlertMax XT II and the GasAlertMicro 5.  These multi gas detectors can simultaneously monitor your 4 standard gases (CO, H2S, O2 and combustibles), with the exception of the GasAlertMicro 5 which can additionally monitor a host of other gases (similar to the GasAlert Extreme range).

The GasAlertMicro 5 is also available with an IR detector or as a PID model for detecting VOCs.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE BW RANGE?

One of the most obvious, stand-out features of the BW products is the colour yellow.  The colour of the housing is what makes the monitors so distinctive and easily visible.  This recognisable characteristic is something which is consistent amongst the full range of BW products, along with some other important features.

The gas detectors are water-resistant to an extent and all have a concussion-proof housing.  This increases the robustness of the instrument and offers protection against any accidental drops or knocks.

Each of the BW monitors come with a handy, stainless-steel alligator clip which means you can operate hands-free by attaching the detector to your clothing.  The monitors are designed to be compact, sturdy and light in weight and clipping them onto your clothing will ensure they won’t get in the way of your work routine.

Every time your BW monitor is switched on it will perform an important self-test.  This is a full-function test which will check the gas detector sensor, the battery status, circuit integrity and both the audible and visual alarms.  This is a great feature and you’ll be able to check your detector is working properly and safely before each work shift.

WHAT ACCESSORIES ARE AVAILABLE?

The MicroDock Calibration station is available for easy and cost-effective bump testing of your BW portable gas detectors.  The MicroDock II is a base station, able to be connected to a module of your choice (e.g. GasAlertClip Extreme Docking Module).  This lets you charge and calibrate up to six modules to suit your application.  If you don't have access to the calibration station then our team of Service Engineers will be able to carry this out for you, along with a full service.  They're also on hand to answer any of your questions about the BW range.

Other available accessories include additional mounting clips and straps, IR datalink, spare boots and filters and also replacement sensors.
