MSA Altair 4XR - 5 Things You Need to Know

Top 5 Things About the Altair 4XR Multi-Gas Detector

#1 - it’s a multi-gas monitor. Out of the box, it will simultaneously measure LEL, oxygen deficiency/oxygen enrichment, hydrogen sulphide and carbon monoxide.  Configurations are also available with sensors for SO2 and NO2, but these are not available as standard. 

#2 - the 4XR has Bluetooth connectivity.  This connects with the Altair app on the Google play store and provides live gas readings, instantAlert distress calls, man down alarms and non-compliance warnings. Please note that Bluetooth connectivity MSA 4XR's are now discontinued and the Bluetooth feature is no longer supported.

#3 - the LED lights on the top of the monitor indicate complianceA flashing red LED shows that the unit has not been bump tested. This will turn green when it has been bump tested. The blue flashing light will indicate the 4XR’s Bluetooth status. And Yellow is an indication of a fault.

#4 - it's a tough detector. Housed in a rugged IP68-rated exterior, and tested to survive 25 drops from heights of around 4 feet high, the Altair 4XR has been designed to be durable enough to withstand 1 drop from 25 feet.

#5 - it replaces the MSA Altair 4X detector. The newer model has sensors that are 2 x faster than the industry average.  Watch our video below to find out the differences between the two models.
