MSA MSR 1 - What are the features and benefits?

MSA MSR 1 - Escape Respirator

As far as a handy, compact escape device goes you can't go wrong with the MSA MSR 1.  We'll discuss the main features and benefits of the device, plus show you how quickly you can use the MSR 1.

MSA MSR 1 - What are the main features?

One of the most important things to note is the MSR 1 should protect you for up to 15 minutes. This allows you to make your escape to a safe area.

This filtering escape device is definitely small in design and light in weight. Inside the robust container is a half mask with an integrated filter to protect you from hazardous gases.

The half mask itself offers an excellent fit to the face once it's donned. This is important to ensure there are no contaminants allowed to enter the mask.

The integrated filter will protect you from ABEK type gases which may include Chlorine (Cl2), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) and Ammonia (NH3). If you wish to check the MSR 1 against other gases then give us a call on 0141 771 7749 or speak to us on our live chat facility on the website

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

We've discussed the main features of the MSR 1 now let's see what advantages this mask will bring you.

Firstly, the compact design means the filtering device is easy to open. Not only is it easy to open but it's also just as quick to put on. Our short instructional video shows the MSR 1 in action.

The half mask also features an exhalation valve. This will add to your comfort as it will help reduce your breathing resistance when wearing the mask.

Lastly, the MSR 1 can be easily carried and won't interfere with your daily tasks. It has a belt clip on the casing which allows it to be attached to a trouser waistband or a belt.

A few important things to note is that a half mask may not always be suitable for those with facial hair. Facial hair may interfere with mask and its aim to create a tight seal around the face. The MSR 1 is also UNSUITABLE for protection against carbon monoxide or oxygen deficiency - it does not supply oxygen.

Where the MSR 1 protects against ABEK gases only, the MSR 2 also protects against toxic particles.  Click here to view more information on the MSR 2.
