For proper calibration of the unit you require:

• calibration gas. In this instance we're using a mix of 25 ppm h2s, 100 ppm co, 2.2% ch4 and 18% o2 in a balance of Nitrogen. Click here to see the range we have in stock

BW's Gas Alert Quattro is a robust and trustworthy multi gas detector.  This four gas detector features the following sensors: LEL (filtered) oxygen (O2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and carbon monoxide (CO). You can watch our video review here.

However like any gas detector, it's spec and capabilities can only truly be relied upon if it is properly maintained and calibrated. In this guide, we're going to take you through the steps of calibrating and bump testing the BW Gas Alert Quattro.

BW Gas Alert Quattro - How to Calibrate

The short answer to this question is to make sure the gas detectors you equip yourself - or your team - with are in optimum working order and will accurate alert the user to the presence of gas hazards in their vicinity.

Gas Calibration - What is it?

In simple terms, when we calibrate our gas detectors we're resetting the sensor's response against a known concentration of gas. To do so we use a calibration gas which will allow us to determine the relationship between the reading captured by the detector and the concentration of gas that it's designed to alert us to.

One of the main uses of the UltraRAE 3000 is to monitor for benzene. Therefore it's absolutely vital that you and your team make sure your UltraRAE 3000 is properly calibrated for this purpose.
