Drager Short Term Water Vapour Detection Tubes

PRODUCT CODE:
702795-01

Drager Short Term Detection Tubes for Water Vapour, used with the Drager Accuro Gas Detection Pump (or the Drager X-act 5000 for the 3/a) for short-term measurement of water vapour through a colour change reaction. Available in 0.1/a (mg/L), 1/b (mg/L) and 3/a (lbs/MMcF) variants, supplied in packs of 10 with a 2 year shelf life.

These tubes are designed for spot-measurements and must be used with the Drager Accuro Gas Detection Pump. Buy now from Frontline Safety.

Product description

The Drager Short Term Detection Tubes for Water Vapour are used for the short-term measurement of water vapour concentration. The tubes use a reaction between water vapour and magnesium perchlorate that produces a colour change from yellow to blue or turquoise-blue. The 0.1/a and 1/b are used with the Drager Accuro Gas Detection Pump, while the 3/a is compatible with either the Accuro pump or the Drager X-act 5000.

This bundle is available in three variants with different measurement units and ranges. The 0.1/a measures 0.1 to 1.0 mg/L. The 1/b measures 1 to 40 mg/L (dual range). The 3/a measures 3 to 60 lbs/MMcF (pounds per million cubic feet), the US gas industry unit for moisture content in natural gas.

All three variants are supplied in packs of 10 with a 2 year shelf life. See the spec table for detailed measurement conditions for the 0.1/a and 1/b.

Specification

Measuring Range

  • 0.1/a: 0.1 to 1.0 mg/L (first scale mark = 0.05 mg H2O/L)
  • 1/b: 1 to 18 mg/L (2 strokes) or 20 to 40 mg/L (1 stroke, dual range)
  • 3/a: 3 to 60 lbs/MMcF

Number of Strokes

  • 0.1/a: 3
  • 1/b: 1 (high range) or 2 (low range)

Time for Measurement

  • 0.1/a: approx. 1.5 minutes
  • 1/b: approx. 20 seconds (high range) or 40 seconds (low range)

Standard Deviation

± 15 to 20%

Colour Change

Yellow to blue (0.1/a) / Yellow to turquoise-blue (1/b)

Reaction Principle

H2O + Mg(ClO4)2 → blue / turquoise-blue reaction product

Ambient Temperature

0 to 30°C (0.1/a) / 0 to 50°C (1/b)

Humidity Notes (1/b)

Up to 100% RH. Condensation in the tube causes measurement errors. For RH above 80%, the tube temperature should be at least 5°C higher than ambient. For RH below 80%, the tube temperature should be at least equal to ambient.

Cross Sensitivity

  • 0.1/a: Basic substances cause plus errors; acidic substances cause minus errors. No interference from 1200 ppm nitrogen dioxide, 6000 ppm sulphur dioxide, 2000 ppm ethanol or 2000 ppm acetone
  • 1/b: Acid gases cause plus errors; basic gases cause minus errors

Pack Size

10 tubes

Shelf Life

2 years
