Drager PSS 3000 with gauge

Drager PSS 3000 Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus with gauge

The Drager PSS 3000 combines comfort with exceptional pneumatic performance and is designed for applications where simplicity and ease of use are key essentials.  It is a new generation of high performing breathing apparatus for fire fighters.

The SCBA is lightweight yet robust and easy for the user to put on.  Professionals demand reliability and consistency from their self contained breathing apparatus whatever environmental conditions they face.  The PSS 3000 has been designed to meet these needs.

Light, Robust and Simple to Use

This model of self contained breathing apparatus is one of the lightest carrying systems to date.  The same advanced technology and design philosophy taken from Drager’s class leading range of short and extended duration professional breathing apparatus has been applied to the Drager PSS 3000.

The carrying system of Drager’s SCBA is extremely durable and features a new and innovative ultra-lightweight, high strength carbon composite carrying frame which exhibits outstanding thermal, impact and chemical resistance properties.  This lightweight harness is suitable for use in all conditions and is easy and quick to put on.  It has been specifically designed to keep its form over a wide range of environmental temperatures and also meets heat and flame requirements.

Enhanced Carrying System

In order to reduce the risk of back pain, fatigue and stress for the wearer the carrying system uses state-of-the-art pressure mapping technology which follows the natural contours of the body to provide the wearer with stability.  This also provides maximum comfort for the user around the shoulders and waist by optimising load distribution comfortably and securely, in line with the body’s centre of gravity.

Despite the emphasis on comfort, the rugged and durable materials used for the PSS 300 have not been compromised.

The Drager PSS 3000 is extremely versatile and the wearer can benefit from leading edge breathing protection technology which incorporates the same pneumatic system used in the PSS 7000.

Integrated Hoses

Drager’s self contained breathing apparatus comes with integrated hoses: a medium pressure air supply and gauge hose.  This is to reduce the risk of entanglement and snagging and ultimately means safety and security are improved whilst entering and working in confined spaces.

There is also a design feature which facilitates the replacement of each hose and has the ability to re-route the hoses from one side to another in order to suit user preferences for gauge access.

Easy to Maintain and Service

The PSS 3000 can be easily serviced and features a number of designs which reduce downtime and costs during maintenance.  The major components of the SCBA are simple and quick to remove and the harness is attached to the carrying frame by an innovative single-piece retention method.  In addition to this the first stage pressure reducer which is integrated into the carrying frame for added protection, can be readily removed.
