Gas Detection Services

At Frontline Safety our Service Team and Project Engineers can offer you a range of services for your gas detection systems, fire detection systems, fire suppression systems and also fire and gas systems. Each service and system will be bespoke and will adhere to your specific requirements. Our team will take the time to understand your existing procedures and circumstances and provide a solution to suit you and your business.

Auditing

Auditing

Our engineers can audit your existing fire and gas detection systems. The process will examine the site, the existing detection systems, and relevant documentation to determine how the facility is being managed with regards to fire & gas safety. It shall also consider maintenance and on-going testing of the fire & gas system and detection instruments as part of the overall system review. Design codes and equipment standards evolve and improve over time, and as technology and detection techniques improve, recommendations can be made to improve or bring existing systems up to new standards. Our engineers have experience of auditing systems with respect to both British Standards and NFPA design codes.

Fire & Gas Mapping

Fire & Gas Mapping

The location of the detection instruments is integral to the effective operation of the fire and gas system, and yet there is no standard template against which the location of many of these devices can be determined. Fire & Gas mapping, modelling of the protected area and the likely dispersion pattern of smoke, gas, or vapour can be used to assess the effectiveness of current system or to determine the requirements of a new system. Fire & gas mapping techniques may be used to identify the optimum position for gas detection devices based upon a modelled gas release scenario.

Training

Training

Training can be provided by our engineers on the use, maintenance, and testing of your fire and gas detection system. Regardless of whether Frontline Safety supplied your system originally, training can be provided to assist your operators in testing and maintenance techniques, equipment calibration, preparation of testing documentation or support can be provided to ensure the ongoing operation of the fire & gas system.

Installation & Commissioning

Installation & Commissioning

Frontline Safety engineers will install and commission fire and gas detection systems where required. We have experience of installing and commissioning systems both in the UK and internationally, on on-shore and off-shore facilities. Our engineers can accommodate the specialist demands of installation and commissioning systems in health care facilities, classified hazardous areas, and sites with extreme environmental conditions.

Site Survey

Site Survey

A review of your site, plant, or building can be conducted by our engineers to determine the most appropriate equipment required for the risks involved in your everyday processes. A report will be generated, to be used in conjunction with a risk assessment, detailing a proposed solution for fire and gas detection within your business.

Design & Integration

Design & Integration

We can, where required, provide design solutions for third party fire & gas detection systems. Our team of experienced engineers can offer solutions utilising equipment from a number of the leading safety system manufacturers. Fire & gas alarm panels can be built into specialist enclosures to support specific environmental, Hazardous Area classification, or simply space requirements. Integration of services, such as GSM telemetry systems, annunciator panels, serial communications to third party systems (BMS, SCADA, etc.) is available. Designs for fire & gas systems, general arrangements for bespoke panel builds, wiring schematics, can be provided in Autocad format for third party panel builders if required.

Hydraulic Calculation

Hydraulic Calculation

Hydraulic calculations are used to verify the design of a fire fighting system, ensuring that the system performance will meet the criteria of the relevant design standards. The action of carrying out a Hydraulic Calculation will verify and validate the design and demonstrate that the system shall provide both sufficient volume and pressure to achieve the fire suppression goals.

Hydraulic calculations are typically carried out using specialist computer software programmes enabling quite large and complex installations to be verified, and generating reports indicating where there are weaknesses within the design.
