MSA S-Cap Fire Escape Hood (in cardboard box)

The MSA S-Cap Fire escape hood is specifically designed to protect people endangered by smoke and gases generated by fires, the most dangerous being carbon monoxide. The S-Cap hood provides users with protection of the eyes, head and respiratory tract so they are able to rescue themselves with little risk. It is ideal for rescue teams to assist in the evacuation of people, even if they are unconscious. The hood can increase safety in places such as residential areas, hospitals, retirement homes, hotels, office buildings or meeting rooms. This partcular S-Cap Fire Escape Hood comes in a cardboard box.

To offer safe protection the MSA S-Cap has a visible, bright yellow hood with a wide lens that gives a large field of vision. The nose cup which is integrated inside the hood can be perfectly adapted to a range of head and face sizes. The multipurpose filter protects against a wide variety of gases and for better respiratory comfort, the hood is also equipped with an exhalation valve. The head harness is adjustable and once tightened the hood can fit perfectly on the user. The material of the hood, as well as the harness and lens, are all resistant against heat and short flame contact. An additional feature of the S-Cap hood is the light cotton neck seal which doesn’t affect the ease of donning the hood even for users who wear spectacles. This added feature enhances performance which exceeds by far the requirements of the revised European standard EN 403:2004.

This fire escape hood by MSA offers immediate protection and is effective within seconds. There is no specific procedure to be carried out and the filter is designed for a service time of 15 minutes (depending on the concentration of the contaminants). This time also depends on an escape from a building under normal conditions. The MSA S-Cap is designed to be used only once so the wearer is assured of the full performance capability of the filter.
