What are the key features and spec of the MSA Altair?

The Altair comes in three different configurations. You have a choice of Oxygen (O2), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and also Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S). There are multiple monitors available to detect various ranges within these three gas types.

This particular gas monitor is extremely economical and is ideal for the detection of toxic gases or oxygen depletion in industries including;

MSA Altair Single Gas Detector - What are the Benefits?

With a two year warranty (or 1080 alarm minutes) the MSA Altair practically has a maintenance-free service life. Even after two years of operation the monitor will continue to perform as long as the battery life allows.

If the monitor needs to be tested then this can be done with a single button press. Confirming ‘Gas Test’ will allow the unit to carry out a simple bump check which is recorded alongside 25 of the latest alarm events. There’s also no need for additional accessories to carry out a bump check.

Another feature of the MSA Altair is the large numeric display ideal for the hard of sight. It allows easy viewing of the instrument life, alarm conditions, set points, peak reading and hours in alarm in activation. You can be confident that this reliable single gas detector will provide you with accurate results.

If you're working in a tough environment such as where it's likely to be dusty, dirty and damp, you need a detector that can withstand whatever you throw at it. This tiny handheld monitor is IP67 rated meaning it has a high degree of resistance to water and dust ingress. The detector can even withstand a 3m drop test due to the extra thick rubberised casing.

The APEX-approved Altair also comes with a rugged clip which ensures a secure fitting to clothing and avoids having to try out the 3m drop test!

A triple alarm system means the detector will effectively alert the user of danger. The alarms include;
