Before using the product always make yourself familiar with the instructions for use

Each new test you carry out should use a new mouthpiece.  Open the mouthpiece packaging, whilst carefully leaving the protective wrapping around the mouth contact area for hygiene reasons.  The standard version of the mouthpiece has fluted markings which should be facing upwards.

How Do I Set Up the Drager Alcotest 6820?

  • Hold the mouthpiece at an angle in the mouthpiece receptacle and press it down
  • The mouthpiece should audibly snap into place
  • You can now remove the rest of the packaging
  • Switch the device on hold the OK button down until the short countdown lapses
  • The device will go through the start-up check
  • It should show READY on the screen and the green light will flash to show operational readiness

How Do I Carry Out a Breath Test on the Drager 6820?

  • To carry out a sample continuously breathe into the mouthpiece until the beeping stops
  • At this point, the unit should read BLOW
  • Once the sample is sufficient a short ANALYSIS screen will appear and then the test result will show with the measured concentration

What Do I Do If An Error Appears?

Note that if the breath sample is too small then the message INSUFFICIENT VOLUME will appear on the screen. The signal will sound and the operational light will flash red.

An irregular exhalation will omit a similar sound and light and will show the message BLOW INTERRUPTION.  Once the test is complete push the mouthpiece upwards and out of the receptacle.  Press OK to return to the main screen, where a new test can be carried out.
