Product description

Drager PIR 700 Explosion Proof Infrared Fixed Gas Detector

The Dräger PIR 7000 is an explosion-proof point infrared gas detector for continuously monitoring combustible gases and vapours.  This detector is designed for use in the harshest industrial settings, such as offshore installations, thanks to its stainless steel SS 316L housing and drift-free optics.

The Dräger PIR 7000's adjustable response mode lets the end user select between "normal" and "high speed" response times - subject to the application.

Certified to SIL 2 and developed in line with EN61508, this PIR 7000 offers a new understanding of reliability.

Key Features

  • Extended temperature range of up to + 77 °C / + 170 °F
  • Hermetically sealed SS 316 L enclosure
  • Continuous self-testing in the context of the IEC/EN 61508 standard
  • Dust approval for zone 21 and 22
  • Double-compensating, non-imaging optics (using 4-beam technology)
  • Single cable multidrop capability using HART® communication
  • Configurable gas library – methane, propane and ethylene fixed; up to 10 additional substances can be uploaded
