The Industrial Scientific Radius BZ1 Area Monitor - An Overview

The Industrial Scientific Radius BZ1 Area Monitor - An Overview

As part of the new onboarding of Industrial Scientific to Frontline Safety – here is the Radius BZ1 area monitor. The Area BZ1 is Industrial Scientifics Area Monitor that can detect up to 7 of the following gases at any time –

  • Ammonia
  • Carbon Monoxide (high and low)
  • Carbon Monoxide/Hydrogen Sulphide
  • Chlorine
  • Hydrogen
  • Hydrogen Sulphide
  • Hydrogen Cyanide
  • Nitrogen Dioxide
  • Oxygen
  • Sulphur Dioxide
  • Phosphine
  • Nitric Oxide
  • VOC's.

What does the Monitor Come With?

  • A Calibration cup (diffused only)
  • Sample tubing and pump inlet water barrier (pump only)
  • A Hand tool
  • A Charging power supply and region-specific cord

What are the monitors main features?

The Radius BZ1 area monitor is a rugged and durable gas monitor that allows you to connect an entire worksite for a streamlined gas monitoring and detecting operation. The Area BZ1 comes in either a pumped or diffused style for area gas monitoring and can detect up to 7 gases simultaneously with 15 sensor options, including PID. The exterior of the monitor is durable and can withstand all weather conditions and harsh environments. These attractive features make it a highly effective monitor used globally across various industries and applications.

Runtime and Charge

The Area BZ1 has an extensive runtime battery of 7 days (168 hours). This allows the monitor to be left in the field for long durations and eliminates the need for regular charging over short periods. When the monitor needs charged, a full charge will take roughly eight hours. Charging accessories are also available for the Radius BZ1. The Industrial Scientific Solar Charger Unit uses solar power to charge the BZ1 out in the field to create an unlimited run time – while using a green energy source. The Extended Run Time Power Supply can also be used alongside the BZ1 to extend the battery life of the monitor by one month.

Navigation

The Radius BZ1 is a very user-friendly area monitor. Users can navigate the monitors' functions on a large LCD screen using a 3-button keypad. The software on the monitor uses intuitive text-based navigation and configuration. Fleet managers can customise messages on the monitor to read critical instructions such as "EVACUATE" or "VENTILATE". Having a precise and customised massage reduces the likelihood of human error in critical situations. Once alarmed, the Radius BZ1 will show an evident red and blue flashing alarm and a noise alarm that reaches 108 dB will sound – cutting through high environments.

Wireless Connectivity

One of the most attractive features of the Radius BZ1 is its extensive wireless connectivity abilities through Industrial Scientific's LENS Wireless. By connecting to cloud software, the monitor can deliver real-time readings and alerts to managers and other personnel to communicate incidents and emergencies quickly. These are transmitted through notifications and alarms both on and off-site from remote locations and control centres. The Radius BZ1 can also connect with Industrial Scientific LENS Wireless Ventis Pro5 personal gas monitors. This ability is helpful for confined space applications as the user within the confined space can share readings and messages to notify personnel of updates or emergencies. Notifications include "EVACUATE" or "VENTILATE". This feature allows instant and accurate responses to critical situations, reducing risk and increasing safety on site.

Quick Set-Up

Another feature is its quick set-up. Upon its turn on, the monitor runs through an automatic start-up, saving time and effort for the user. The screen then displays the company name, user, extra site information and, if desired, critical information such as safety reminders. The Radius BZ1 can be deployed in seconds as an emergency response or left on-site for up to 7 days on a single charge. A blue flashing indicator is present to ensure the monitor is still on, allowing all users to see whether the instrument is ready to detect gas efficiently.

Dual-Sense Sensor Technology

Another great feature of the Industrial Scientific BZ1 is its use of dual-sense sensor technology. The smart sensor technology uses redundant sensors that measure the concentration of gas and the likelihood of monitor failure. These sensors are also independent of each other, ensuring that even if one paired sensor were to fail, the monitor would operate with the other one.
