The Oxy K is an oxygen self-rescuer from Drager Safety.  This particular version is the Oxy K 50 S which provides breathing air for 50 minutes and comes with a shoulder strap for easy carrying.

The KO2 self-rescuer ensures you are independent of the ambient air using chemically bound oxygen.  A quick starter on the unit will provide you with an immediate oxygen supply.

This type of self rescuer is used when there is a danger of toxic gases or when the atmosphere is oxygen deficient.
