Gas Detectors for Mining Applications

The following gas detectors have been suggested by manufacturers as being suitable for applications within the mining industry.  Suitable detectors and applications may include oxygen deficiency monitors for black damp in confined spaces (so long as they have the ability to carry our pre-entry checks), combustible gas detectors for fire damp in mechanized coal cutting, hydrogen sulphide detectors for stink damp in mining processes, carbon monoxide for white damp as a result of fire combustion, diesel-powered machinery, confined spaces and blasting (so long as they have the ability to carry our pre-entry checks), combustible and carbon dioxide detection for emergency
rescue action, nitric oxide for diesel exhausts and nitrogen dioxide for diesel-powered machinery and blasting.

We recommend checking your site-specific requirements and carrying out a risk assessment to ensure you choose the correct gas detector for your application.  Should you require assistance with this then please contact our Sales Team on 0141 771 7749 or contact [email protected].
